Portfolio Review Day

You’ve worked long nights, in between Netflix binges and until you could no longer blink from the glow of your computer screen.  Wouldn’t it be great to get some feedback on all your hard work?

Here’s your chance! Let’s double-check your work, maybe even improve some skills, or help you land your dream job!

Portfolio Review Day is an annual FREE event hosted by the American Advertising Federation of North Dakota for current college students, of all levels, in North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota in the design, interactive, advertising, copywriting, print and photo journalism and video related fields.

Students can have their portfolios reviewed by area professionals in their industries, and receive priceless feedback. Reviews are done in one-on-one sessions lasting 30 minutes each.

This event is a great way to simply build up your portfolio, receive professional feedback, practice your interview skills, and make connections that could be useful if you are beginning your job search!

But don’t fret!! Just join us!  Bring whatever portfolio you’ve got. This is the best way to continue to improve it!

STUDENT GALLERY AT PORTFOLIO REVIEW DAY!

Enter your work in the student gallery!

This is a gallery of student work that will be shown in the same room as the portfolio reviews. Although the gallery is optional, it is a GREAT way to get your portfolio of work in front of many industry professionals at one time. You are welcome to include business cards and resumes with your work. If you’re trying to get a head start on getting that job, this is a great opportunity!

Industry reviewers will be voting on who they think is “best in show” in the student gallery. (The top 3 winners will be announced to all of the participating reviewers and students after the event.)

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

  • Provide up to 8 printed samples of your work
Note: You may include 3D pieces if you wish. Stationery sets and small campaigns will be considered one piece. Although not required, we’d recommend having at least 4 pieces. You are welcome to include business cards and resumes along with your work (these won’t be counted as portfolio pieces).
  • Label each of your portfolio pieces with your name and college (on the back/bottom)
  • Drop off your pieces to one of these committee members by 12pm on 4/11/18.
Note: You may pick up your work after the after the event. If you’re not able to do so, please contact a committee member to pick up your work at a later time.
